Membership – Technical

Qualifying Criteria

You manage the explosive hazard, not yet in a position of responsibility, or you manage the explosive hazard, but you have held a position of responsibility for less than 3 years.

Technical membership is for those who manage the explosive hazard themselves as a regular part of their job, or who have recently taken on responsibility for explosives work undertaken by others and have not yet held the position for 3 years.

Applications are assessed by considering qualifications, work experience, current role, and length of time within the industry. IExpE recognise that each application is unique and will review the documents you provide against the criteria. Failure to provide all information at the time of submission will result in delays when processing your application.

Technical membership is available to civilian and military personnel.

Upon approval of your application, you will be a voting member of IExpE with the postnominals TIExpE.

Eligibility:

• Your role involves the regular handling of explosives.
• You hold a position of responsibility, but for less than 3 years or you do not carry accountability for explosives work carried out by others.
• You hold an explosive related qualifications of Level 3 or above.

What you will need to provide:

• Application form.
• A full and up-to-date CV.
• Certificates in support of qualifications and training referred to within your application.
• A recent photograph.
• Photographic identification, such as a copy of your driving licence or passport.
• Application fee.

Referees:

When considering your referees you should refer to the guidance for referees to ensure that those nominated have sufficient knowledge of your background, work experience and qualifications to fulfil our reference criteria.

Details of two referees who can support your application and confirm the information you have provided are required. References from referees from the same company or organisation will not be accepted, at least one must be independent.

• Referee One – Holds a current IExpE Member or Fellow membership, and independent from your current employer organisation.
• Referee Two – Your current employer or line manager (either a current IExpE member or non-member).
