Description
Help Build Europe’s Hypersonic Capability
At Hypersonica, we’re redefining what’s possible in European defence technology. We exist to deliver speed, resilience, and technological independence at a pace that sets a new standard. We are a small, elite team working on problems that matter, and solving them fast.
As our Simulation Engineer, you own the simulation framework used to predict the effectiveness of our products. You are responsible for building and driving the environment that models how our systems behave in the terminal phase. You serve as the link between physics and operational performance.
What You’ll Do
- Build the Simulation Environment: Develop and manage the end-to-end architecture for effectiveness modelling, ensuring the environment can simulate complex interactions.
- Conduct Trade-Off Studies. Perform sensitivity and trade-off analyses to balance variables like mass, shape, and material choices against mission requirements.
- Improve the Models: Establish the methodology for validating simulation results against physical test data, ensuring the digital environment accurately reflects real-world physics.
- Inform Design Decisions: Provide data-driven insights to the broader engineering team to determine key dependencies and constraints and to optimize overall system effectiveness
- Standardize Metrics. Define and track quantitative performance indicators to measure system success.
Who You Are
- You have 3+ years of experience in simulation and modelling. Background in weapons effects modelling is preferred.
- You have a strong background in numerical simulation in either of high-speed flows using CFD, explicit dynamics using FEM, or Lagrangian particle tracking for modelling explosive events.
- You have the technical skill to build automated workflows and simulation pipelines rather than just running existing tools.
- You are comfortable in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. You don’t wait for a perfect roadmap; you create the path forward, bringing cross-functional colleagues along and ensuring the team maintains momentum in a collaborative way.
Security and Eligibility Requirement
Due to the nature of the work with the UK MOD, applicants must be a British Citizen (or Dual UK national with British citizenship) and eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) and, where required, Developed Vetting (DV)
