The Institute of Explosives Engineers (IExpE) has withdrawn as an independent scheme from the CSCS Alliance, and will instead process cards for its members via the CSCS Online service.
Under the new arrangement, IExpE will use the CSCS Online application portal for its card production and delivery, aligned to IExpE’s existing membership and qualification requirements.
Applications and renewals will continue to be made directly through IExpE, with no change to that process for members.
CSCS Online is used by a number of Alliance schemes, providing an affordable and flexible solution that is fully aligned with Construction Leadership Council (CLC) requirements, while reducing fragmentation for cardholders and wider industry.
CSCS Group Chief Executive, Sean Kearns, said: “CSCS has the digital infrastructure, systems and experience to deliver a fully CLC-compliant carding service on behalf of others, and that’s something no one else can offer in quite the same way. We’re pleased to be supporting IExpE and its members through this transition.”
IExpE Executive Officer, Dave Welch, said: “The Institute reflects positively on our time as part of the CSCS Alliance – helping to collectively raise standards and safety across construction and the Built Environment.
“We are also reassured and confident that our members will continue to have access to a CSCS card, without any changes to their usual process and application methods, providing assurance to contractos that they have the training and qualifications to perform their roles safely.”
The move to CSCS brings IExpE cardholders a number of new digital features, including NFC-enabled cards for on-site verification via CSCS Smart Check and access to the My CSCS app, including its My Skills feature for recording additional qualifications and training, and a digital card with a dynamic QR code for site access.
