Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing Proof activities to ensure production targets are met – ensuring building start-ups are complete, SOP training is complete, ensuring proof report are issued, instruments are calibrated and annual PMI’s are carried out
  • Managing a team of radiographers to ensure production is supported
  • Conforming to the requirements of EN4179 for X-ray qualification
  • Liaising with Engineering on projects for bespoke products
  • Managing Radiation Protection for site and point of contact for RPA and HSE
  • Working with sub-contractors to ensure that X-ray equipment is serviced
  • Completion of annual process, product and H&S audits
  • Developing new systems of work for new products

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience of X-ray & Proof activities with knowledge of trial result analysis is ideal
  • Digital X-ray (Level 2 or 3) & RPS experience or a willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of the requirements of EN4179 is beneficial
  • Demonstrable experience of managing technical teams over site wide activities
  • Ability to adhere to stringent health & safety policies and procedures
  • Experience of liaising with maintenance, sub-contractors and service providers
  • Audit experience – e.g. EN4179, ISO9001, HSE, H&S, Building, RPA & Process

The team:

As the X-ray & Proof manager you will be managing 2 teams consisting of Radiographers & Proof Officers who will conduct inspections and trials on different products for different customers. The aim is to ensure the integrity and high quality of a wide range of products. In this role you will be working a 4-day week from Monday to Thursday.

This is an excellent opportunity and one of several vacancies available due to the continued expansion across our Land UK sites with BAE Systems securing new orders for the supply of munitions to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
