Job summary
Dstl’s Energetics Enclosure (EE) is expanding and your next role could see you providing on-site direct support on explosive tasks.
We have an exciting roles for an EE Magazine Worker.
For this role you will have effective communication skills, pay attention to detail and be comfortable working in a team. You will adhere to safe working practices and appreciate the need for others to do the same.
You may have experience working with energetics, or transferable skills from a warehouse environment, either way we look forward to hearing from you.

Job description
As the Magazine Worker you will be accountable for the receipt, storage and issuing of explosive articles. Supported by your supervisor, you will ensure relevant paperwork and compliance is completed. You will take pride in ensuring your tasks are completed safely, flagging any issues with facilities etc. allowing them to be dealt with promptly.

Important Information
Our work in defence, security and intelligence requires our employees to be UK Nationals who are able to gain a high level of security clearance to undertake the projects we are involved in to protect us from security threats. This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.
Person specification
We are looking for someone who has:
• Produce and maintain accurate stock records.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively host visitors.
• Ability to stay calm in an emergency.
• Competence in using Microsoft Office software products, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Hold a full UK driving licence (manual).

Selection process details

The first sift will take place week commencing the 4th November with the final sift being week commencing 18th November
Interviews will be arranged from 13th-15th November following the first sift, and final interviews will take place week commencing 2nd December 2024
