About the role:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated OME professional, who is looking for an opportunity to further develop their leadership and management skills, to take on the role of Explosives Manager within the Environmental Test Centre (ETC) at Shoeburyness, in Essex.

The Explosives Manager will primarily be acting as the point of contact for multiple stakeholders on explosives-safety related matters involving the test activities conducted within ETC, but you may also be asked to provide explosives-safety advice and assistance across the wider QinetiQ business.

What I will be doing:

• The Explosives Manager will be providing explosives technical and safety advice and guidance to others, including active participation in Hazardous Activity Management Reviews.
• You will be reviewing explosives safety-management systems and analysing the acceptability of safety control measures.
• The Explosives Manager will be responsible for the identification and analysis of explosives-related risks.
• You will be implementing explosives-related risk control measures.
• The Explosives Manager will be investigating explosives safety incidents.

What do I need?

• You should have a deep understanding of Explosives regulatory requirements.
• The Explosives Engineer must have a deep understanding of OME Storage, Processing, Handling and Transportation requirements.
