Job Title: CNC Machinist Team Leader

Location: Washington, Tyne and Wear

Salary: £42,132

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supervising a team of skilled machinists working across multiple shift patterns
  • Carrying out line management responsibilities such as absence management, coaching, and development
  • Taking responsibility for the activities that the skilled workers will be undertaking, such as machine knock/bump/crash and finding the root cause
  • Responsible for the safety of the employees working within Setter function within the manufacturing area.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of continuous improvement activities utilising lean tools and techniques to drive delivery performance
  • Showing a proactive, flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, with excellent attention to detail

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Time served Engineering apprenticeship
  • Previous success in implementing and sustaining continuous improvement activities
  • Extensive experience in CNC machining
  • An ability to lead a team ensuring deliverables ae achieved to the required quality, cost, and delivery

Desirable:

  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to work, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communicator at all levels, with the ability to articulate technical safety and process information to stakeholders
  • Safety conscious attitude with knowledge and skill to fully integrate safety into the working environment
