Tonanti Ltd is a privately owned specialist consultancy, established in 2008.  Since then, we have established an excellent reputation for delivery, both directly to clients and as a sub-contractor on a broad range of tasks.  The company covers the spectrum of Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives activities, from acquisition support through to demilitarisation.  A fundamental understanding of explosive ordnance (EO), plus project management and leadership experience, enables a wide contribution in all aspects of defence, security and countering the EO threat, whether in the form of improvised explosive devices or conventional munitions.

In the fourteen years of its existence, Tonanti Ltd has worked with clients in the public, private and charity/not-for-profit sectors.  International clients have included NATO, the NATO Supply and Procurement Agency, UN Development Programme, UN Mine Action Service, Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining Ammunition Management Advisory Team, whilst in UK we have worked with project teams in Defence Equipment & Support, Dstl and a number of private sector clients.  The company’s business model includes utilising an extensive network of associates to tailor the delivery of projects to best meet the client’s requirement.  We collaborate with those clients to identify their specific needs and focus on the delivery of high-quality products.  Written documents produced have included detailed technical instructions, standard operating procedures, written advice for specific projects, environmental and/or safety case reports.   Examples of consultancy projects successfully delivered include:

• An assessment of a nation’s ammunition storage capability, making recommendations for the improvement of safety and security through improvement of physical infrastructure and procedural aspects.
• Support to a UK private sector company for the development of an ammunition demilitarisation capability.
• Support to Defence Equipment & Support for a study of the UK energetic testing and assessment capabilities in support of defence acquisition and national security.
• Support to an international humanitarian organisation for the drafting a UN Standard Operating Procedure for Weapons and Ammunition Management.
• An environmental assessment and development of Environmental Operating Procedures for a demilitarisation facility funded through the NATO Supply & Procurement Agency.

Although principally a consultancy, Tonanti Ltd is experienced in the development and delivery of training in ammunition and explosives safety and management. Recently, the company was awarded the IExpE “Badge of Excellence” standard as a training Centre and for its “Working with Explosives” course.
