ESM Explosives Storage Management Training
This 5 day course is designed to introduce students to the basic requirements for storing Explosives, Substances & Articles (ESA) in accordance with statutory legislation. Explosives Regulations 2014 (ER 2014) or Joint Service Publication (JSP 482). Both sets of regulations call for the demonstration of an individuals training and competency for the work and JSP 482 specifically requires that this must be demonstrated against the standards of best practice and these are the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Explosives Substances & Articles (ESA).
The course is largely aimed at individuals who will become responsible for the safe storage of explosives and munitions and who have little or no formal knowledge of explosives. It is also appropriate for other more experienced explosives workers who need to formalise their vocational qualifications through an academic award.
The student will receive an SCQF Level 4 Award in Explosives Foundation Studies as well as an ISSEE certification, which may be used as proof of Continued Personal Development.
