Domestic Considerations: Full time post. Army/Regular Reserve post, some UK and overseas travel and overnight duty may be required. Should live within daily commuting distance of MoD Main Building. Must be prepared to deploy at R1 readiness on SP Branch taskings.
Position Role: Intelligence acquisition and exploitation of Foreign Military Materiel and Lethal Mechanisms. Responsibilities are: Plan, prioritise, organise, and conduct sensitive Battlefield Intelligence Recovery (BIR) operations in support of Defence objectives. Manage and coordinate routine SP Branch administrative and logistic operations. Operate and liaise with those national and international intelligence agencies and OGD involved in BIR activity. Coordinate DI SP/Dstl technical inspections of threat systems in hostile environments, implementing logistic recovery as appropriate. Conduct IMI/IMX and assurance of foreign material items on a through life basis – acquisition to disposal. Justify, audit and manage several multi million-pound contracts, comprising funds from UK and international partners. Line manage SO3 (W) and Log/Admin Sgt posts. Deputise for DI CA-SP DH (OF5) as required.
Essential Competencies
Must have a thorough understanding of land air and sea logistic operations and the safe transportation of Dangerous Goods including explosives. Must be able to absorb information quickly and switch rapidly between several complex projects. Must be able to make pragmatic operational decisions under pressure, and in the company of national intelligence agencies. Must be prepared to take operational risks and be personally accountable (based on broad operational experience). Must have a thorough knowledge of capability management, planning and delivery preferably within the DE&S/Cap area. Must have breadth and intellect to engage effectively with senior figures in the international military and intelligence environments.
Desirable competencies
Highly desirable that incumbent has prior experience in an intelligence post, preferably within Defence Intelligence or similar environment.

Additional information
Role would suit Ammunition Technical Officer or Movement Controller. Ex RLC officers with Air Despatch or Generalist Logistics background may also apply. Applications from OF3 – OF5 candidates will be considered. Should applicant be a qualified EOD operator, post is RRP (EOD) earning.
