Education and Training

The IExpE aims to ensure that the explosives sector has good quality training and educational opportunities available that meet the needs of employers, their employees and our members.

We will provide the benchmark for identification of training and education and be the first port of call for anyone seeking these services.

There are a number of training providers and courses available and we have provided a means to differentiate and select on a course provider based on two key parameters:-

  • Technical robustness
  • Quality of Training

The IExpE is working towards a number of apprenticeships at levels 4, 6 and 7 to further support the sector as a whole and more information will be provided on this through the website shortly. These are not just for newcomers to the sector but for experienced employees that would benefit from a formal qualification. The apprenticeships will be approved through the Institute for Apprenticeships and funding will be available through the apprenticeship levy.

Organisations with formal Initial Professional Development Schemes are also able to receive endorsement/accreditation through the IExpE allowing members of those schemes a straightforward route to membership and professional registration.
