Technical Member

Qualifying Criteria

The status of Technical Member is the first professional grade of Institute membership. Prior to submitting an application for membership of IExpE, please ensure you satisfy the following minimum the education and experience requirements in an area of explosives occupational competence:

  • Over the age of 18 years
  • Employed in an explosives vocation or if remaining in full-time education have accrued suitable work-based experience
  • Possess a qualifying qualification, or combination, relevant to their employment at equivalent QCF Level 3 or above and a recorded total of 600 learning hours
  • Have completed a period of training and have work-based experience in the industry, which is a least one year in a relevant role

Successful candidates will be awarded status of Technical Member of the Institute of Explosives Engineers (TIExpE).

Application Fee – £70 / Annual Membership – £89 (UK) / £99 (Non-UK)

The Application Fee is payable at the time of sending in your application form and is not refundable.
There is no Application Fee if you wish to upgrade your membership.

PRO RATA SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR NEW MEMBERS

The first annual subscription will become due when you receive acknowledgment of your membership status.

A Certificate of Membership will not be sent to the applicant until such time as we receive this payment. The pro rata amount payable will be as detailed below:

Admitted before 30th April – Full Annual Subscription
Admitted between 1st May & 31st August – One Half of Annual Subscription
Admitted between 1st September & 30th November – One Quarter of Annual Subscription
Admitted after 1st December 2018 – the following year’s annual Subscription will be paid

TAX RELIEF

The Institute has been approved by the Board of the Inland Revenue, under Section 201, Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for members whose Tax affairs are dealt with in the UK to obtain Income Tax Relief on their Subscriptions.

Submission Checklist

To avoid any delay being incurred with the processing of your application please ensure the following:-

  1. All sections of the application form have been completed in full and the application form is signed and dated
  2. You have nominated 2 referees, one of which is a current IExpE member, and included their email addresses
  3. You have included full documentary evidence in support of your training,
    qualifications and competencies, together with an up to date copy of your CV.
  4. The non refundable application fee in the sum of £70.00 is enclosed. (FREE for an upgrade/transfer)
  5. You have enclosed an up to date colour photograph signed and dated on the reverse

Military Checklist

  5. You have enclosed an up to date colour photograph signed and dated on the reverse
