Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Programming, setting, and running cylindrical grinding machines and surface grinders
  • Producing dyes and punches
  • Manufacturing one offs to large batch quantities
  • Maintaining work equipment and a safe and well organised workstation, including completing safety checks
  • Assisting in work centre housekeeping and any 5S activities

 Your skills and experiences:

  • Time served – 3-4 Year Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, served in a relevant Engineering industry (alongside an NVQ Level 3, BTEC/ONC/City & Guilds)
  • Previous experience of programming, setting, and operating cylindrical grinders and surface grinders
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Capable of determining optimal tooling and cutting parameters based on material and setup
  • Understand and implement work holding for manufacturing processes

The Tool Making team:
As a Toolmaker of cylindrical grinders, you will be joining our small Toolroom team. Here at Radway Green you will get the chance to use state of the art grinding machines in our exceptionally modern toolroom. This role will also offer you fantastic opportunities for career progression.
