Professional Registration

The Institute of Explosives Engineers actively encourages the professional registration of its own suitably qualified Engineers and Technicians.

Benefits of Professional Registration

Registering as a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Engineering Technician (EngTech) affords the following benefits:

  • The status of being part of a technological elite
  • Recognition of your expertise and hard work
  • Higher self-esteem and improved confidence
  • Higher earnings potential
  • Improved career prospects
  • Greater influence within your organisation and industry
  • Access to life-long learning
  • International recognition of your qualifications
  • Letters after your name eg J Smith CEng

The Registration Process

Since becoming a Professional Affiliate of the Engineering Council in July 2008, we have sought a means to register our own members. A recent simplification of Engineering Council (EC) regulations paved the way and on the 5th October 2009 the IExpE became the first organisation to sign a new ‘non-joint’ registration agreement with the Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE). As a fully licensed organisation, the SEE brings us the experience and administration necessary to register our own suitably qualified engineers and technicians, making Chartership, Incorporation, and the designation Engineering Technician available to IExpE members.
